Typically a session involves a static & dynamic assessment reviewing mobility, stiffness, restrictions, pain, alignment, tightness and muscular function (depending on your initial problem, possibly required to be lunged or ridden)
Depending on initial findings further sessions maybe required and these will be discussed at the first appointment

A full report is emailed to the client within 24hrs of the session - this report shows a full account of the session and also an After Care plan. (Written reports are available - please advise on New Client Form)
How does it work for the Horse?
When being ridden, the saddle and rider put pressure on the vital chain of muscles and tissues that extend from the neck to the tail.
Over time, these areas can become fibrous and tender. The Fascial tool is effective in breaking down fibrous muscle tissue, enhancing circulation, aiding muscle tone and increasing blood flow.
Fascia needs all the below to keep healthy:
Hydration * Nutrition * Sleep * Movement * Fitness
Healthy Fascia = Healthy horse
Light therapy can help relax muscle tension and spasms, inflammation and chronic conditions such as arthritis and overuse injuries.
Plus, it gives pain relief through the red light by releasing endorphins (the body's natural pain killing chemicals ) and serotonin (the key chemical for stabilising mood and enhancing feelings of well being)
Blue light lessens the risk of infection by reducing the growth of bacteria. Useful for post operative wounds and supporting recovery from bacterial infections.
Some of the benefits of red light & IR therapy
Increases circulation & blood flow.
Improve energy, metabolism and cellular functioning
Reduces inflammation and increases lymphatic activity.
Decrease pain and discomfort
Regulation of collagen production which helps to reduce scarring.
Support the body in maintaining health and wellness
An assessment will be carried out and Light therapy applied. If you have a known issue with your horse a more specific session can be arranged - please let H.E.T know and this can be addressed.
Full session report available within 24hrs of the session
How soon can I ride following an Equine Touch session?
I recommend allowing the horse to have at least 24hrs off afterwards however, it also depends on how much is 'highlighted' within the session
When can a horse not have Equine Touch?
If your horse is currently receiving veterinary treatment you must request permission from your vet beforehand. I can't work over specific injury sites or areas, however I can work on the rest of the horse
What to do prior to an Equine Touch session?
Horses need to be clean and dry for the session. In quiet surroundings if possible, so that the horse can concentrate on the session.
How long is a session?
The session is totally 'led' by the horse - depending on findings and reactions, a session can be between 1 - 2 hours.
