Welcome to Hampshire Equine Touch

Welcome to Hampshire Equine Touch  Holistic Equine Bodywork

Hi, I’m Julie – a fully trained and qualified Equine Touch Practitioner based in North Hampshire. At Hampshire Equine Touch, we offer gentle, holistic bodywork for horses, focusing on their mental and physical well-being.

We believe that every horse deserves to be treated with the utmost care, respect, and compassion. Whether you're managing a performance horse, a golden oldie, or a beloved companion, our goal is to help your horse feel and perform at their best.

What is Equine Touch?

Equine Touch is a gentle, hands-on bodywork modality that works with the horse’s fascia – the connective tissue that surrounds and supports muscles, organs, and joints. By using specific, non-invasive moves, Equine Touch helps to release tension, encourage balance, and promote natural self-healing.

Is Your Horse Showing Any of These Signs?

  • Reluctance to jump, knock poles, or stretch
  • Difficulty engaging or collecting
  • Incorrect canter leads or disuniting
  • Stiffness or resistance on one rein
  • Head tilting
  • Unbalanced or tense transitions
  • Contact issues or hollowing the back
  • Changes in behaviour or attitude
  • Just not feeling ‘quite right’

These may indicate discomfort, imbalance, or tension that Equine Touch can help address.

Benefits of Equine Touch

  • Enhances suppleness, willingness, and balance
  • Relieves muscle tightness and supports postural symmetry
  • Aids recovery after exercise, competition, or box rest
  • Complements veterinary, dental, and hoof care
  • Supports mental relaxation and reduces stress
  • Helps prevent injury through regular maintenance
  • Strengthens the bond between horse and owner
  • Suitable for horses of all ages, disciplines, and stages of life

From happy hackers to competition horses, companions to retirees – every horse can benefit from this gentle yet powerful therapy.

How do you know its working?

Positive signs to look for are :

  • The horse entering a deep state of relaxation
  • Sighing
  • Itching
  • Change in posture
  • Licking and chewing
  • Stretching & Shaking

After Care following an Equine Touch session

Equine Touch boosts the circulatory session, which may trigger detoxification and leave the horse feeling lethargic and a little stiff in the muscles - so the horses should always have access to a constant supply of fresh clean water and turnout where possible.

I recommend that the horse is not groomed or ridden for 24hrs after a session to allow the new muscle balance and harmony to take effect. This is to allow the body time to 'process' the vibrational moves that have been applied.
